Strand I
Technology Outcomes and WINDOWS 98/2000/XP
Participants will develop a project concerning Technology Outcomes, Michigan Curriculum Frameworks, and State and National Standards related to the incorporation of technology in education.  Participants will incorporate WINDOWS 98/2000/XP into their project. 
Activities will include:
  • mouse activities,
  • files and folders,
  • running programs,
  • finding files and folders,
  • creating files and folders,
  • loading a program,
  • locating devices, and
  • printer setup.

Strand II
Word - Word-processing and Desktop Publishing
Participants will develop a project concerning word processing and desktop publishing. 
Technology topics that will be included in the projects are
  • Integration of documents with other applications,
  • Mail Merge,
  • WordArt,
  • Columns,
  • Drawn objects, and
  • Desktop publishing.

Strand III
Excel I & II- Spreadsheet applications
Participants will develop a project concerning spreadsheet applications.  Technology activities that will be incorporated in the projects include
  • the use formulae and functions,
  • graphs and charts, and
  • the integration of a spreadsheet with other applications.

Strand IV
Access - Database applications
Participants will develop a project concerning database applications. Technology activities that will be incorporated in the projects include
  • Tables,
  • Forms,
  • Queries, and
  • Reports that make up a database and
  • Integrating a database with other applications.

Strand V
PowerPoint - Presentation graphics including multimedia
Participants will develop a major project concerning a PowerPoint presentation.
Technology activities that will be incorporated in the projects include
  • Graphics,
  • Transitions,
  • Animations.
  • Graphs and charts,
  • Sound and other multimedia effects,
  • Controls, and
  • Integration with other applications.

Strand VI
Internet I & II - Efficient, effective instructional use of the Internet
Participants will develop a project concerning the educational use of the Internet.
Technology activities that will be incorporated in the projects include
  • E-Mail,
  • FTP,
  • Listservs,
  • Forum and Chat, and
  • the World Wide Web. 

    Participants will also build Web pages that include
    • Text,
    • Lists,
    • Links,
    • Graphics,
    • Color,
    • Tables, and/or
    • Frames.

Strand VII
Technology Based Education - Distance Ed and Multimedia
Participants will develop projects using
distance education,
multimedia, and
on-line technology to deliver presentations and instruction. 

Participants will use the knowledge and skills learned in Strands I through VI to develop presentations using distance education, multimedia, and on-line technologies.
