Create a Database
   Step  1
In Access, click on File | New Database.

The New Dialog Box will appear and the Blank database icon should be selected.

Create a Database
   Step  2
The default name (db1.mdb, for example) should be selected in the File Name area.

Type the name you have chosen for your database. (We chose CustomerDatabase.)
Click OK.

Create a Database
   Step  3
Note:

Access is different than other programs in that you save your work in this first step.
The database you have created is an empty shell of a database.
Now you need to create database objects, such as, tables, queries, forms, and reports.
