Add a Data Source Name
Step 1 On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
 Find the ODBC icon.

Step 2 Double-click the ODBC icon.
 The ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box will appear.

Step 3 Click on the System DSN tab at the top of the dialog box.

Step 4 Click the Add button.
 The Create New Data Source dialog box appears.

Step 5 Select the driver (Microsoft Access Driver *.mdb) and click the Finish button.
 The ODBC Microsoft Access Setup dialog box appears.

Step 6 Type a Data Source Name and Description for the database.
 The DSN serves as a nickname or shortcut to the database.

Step 7 Click the Select button.
 The Select Database dialog box appears. Find your database and click OK.

Step 8 The ODBC Microsoft Access Setup dialog box appears showing the path and name of the database file.
 Click OK.

Add a Data Source Name
Step 9 The ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box now shows the DSN you created.
 Click OK. You have now created a DSN (nickname or shortcut) for your database.
