Add a Data Source Name
   Step  1
On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

Find the ODBC icon.

Double-click the ODBC icon.

The ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box will appear.

Click on the System DSN tab at the top of the dialog box.

Click the Add button.

The Create New Data Source dialog box appears.

Select the driver (Microsoft Access Driver *.mdb) and click the Finish button.

The ODBC Microsoft Access Setup dialog box appears.

Type a Data Source Name and Description for the database.

The DSN serves as a nickname or shortcut to the database.

Click the Select button.

The Select Database dialog box appears. Find your database and click OK.

The ODBC Microsoft Access Setup dialog box appears showing the path and name of the database file.

Click OK.

The ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box now shows the DSN you created.

Click OK.
You have now created a DSN (nickname or shortcut) for your database.
