Recording Voice Narration
   Step  1
To record sound narration, you need a sound card, microphone, and speakers.

Recording Voice Narration
   Step  2
On the menu, click Slide Show | Record Narration.

The Record Narration dialog box appears. If you place a check in "Link Narrations In:" the sound files are not part of the PowerPoint presentation (which reduces the size of the PowerPoint file). The narrations are separate files.

Recording Voice Narration
   Step  3
To change sound quality settings, click "Settings".

The Sound Selection dialog box appears. The sound quality choices are Telephone Quality (poorest quality), Radio Quality (medium quality and default), and CD Quality (best quality). The better the quality the larger the sound files.

Recording Voice Narration
   Step  4
To begin recording, click OK. Be ready to begin recording IMMEDIATELY.

As you click through your slide show, sounds are recorded that correspond to the timing of each click. Just talk naturally and move through your presentation.

Recording Voice Narration
   Step  5
PowerPoint will place your recorded voice into the slides.

When others view your presentation in slide show view, they will hear your voice and the slides will automatically advance.
