PowerPoint Menu Inserting Clipart and WordArt - 4 Next Topic

 

Objectives:

  1. Learn to insert clipart in a presentation.
  2. Learn to insert WordArt in a presentation.

    Inserting Clipart into your presentation.

    Occasionally you will want to insert graphics into your presentation. You can develop your own artwork or use Microsoft’s Clipart Gallery.
  1. Save any work that you have.
  2. Choose File/Open to open your PTA Meeting presentation if necessary.
  3. Choose Insert/Picture/Clipart.
    The Clipart dialogue box will appear.


  4. Select the People At Work category and Clipart images will be displayed that pertain to People.
  5. Select Leadership or another image which is appropriate for your slide.
  6. Click Insert.
    Your slide will look similar to the one shown below.


    Note: You can re-size the image by:
    1. clicking on the image,
    2. selecting a "handle", and
    3. dragging the image until it is the size you desire.

    Inserting WordArt in your presentation.


    This activity cannot be completed if you do not have WordArt on your computer.
  1. Save any work that you have.
  2. Choose Insert/Picture/WordArt.
  3. The WordArt Gallery dialogue box will appear.



  4. Select a WordArt style.
  5. Click OK.

    The Edit WordArt Text dialogue box appears.
  6. In the dialog box, type the text to be displayed as WordArt.
  7. (In this example, PTA Meeting was typed.) The final slide will look like this.

  8. To make changes to the WordArt, double-click on the WordArt.
    The following toolbar will appear.



Insert WordArt - This button allows you to insert a WordArt object.

WordArt Edit Text - This button allows you to change text.

WordArt Gallery - This button brings up the WordArt Gallery of shapes and colors.

Format WordArt - This button allows you to change colors, Fonts, etc.

WordArt Shape - This button allows you to change the shape of your WordArt object.

WordArt Free Rotate - This button allows you to Rotate your WordArt object.

WordArt Same Letter Heights - This button causes upper and lower case letters to be the same height.

WordArt Vertical Text - This button causes text to stretch vertically.

WordArt Alignment - This button allows you to select left, right, center, or justified alignment.

WordArt Character Spacing - This button allows you to position characters close together or far apart.
