WORD 2000 Menu WORD 2000 Creating, Saving, and Printing - 1 Next Topic

 

Objectives:

  1. Learn to use New file function
  2. Learn to use Save As function
  3. Learn to use Print function

Creating a New File.

  1. From Microsoft Word, Choose File/New/Blank Document -or-
  2. Click New Icon

    The cursor should be blinking in the work area. If it is not blinking, click once in the work area.

Typing Text.

  1. Type 3 paragraphs of your own. Don’t worry about errors. We will correct errors in the next lesson. Don’t press Enter/Return at the end of each line. Press Enter/Return only at the end of a paragraph.

Saving Your Work.

  1. Choose File/Save As
    1. Make sure correct drive letter has been selected in the Save in area.
    2. Type your filename in the Filename box.
    3. Click Save.

Printing Your Output.

  1. Choose File/Print Preview.
  2. Look at your preview. Click Close.

  3. Choose File/Print/OK.
