Publisher Menu Creating a Web Site with Publisher Next Topic

Activity 4

Objectives:

  1. Learn how to create a Web Site using Microsoft Publisher.

Creating a Web Site using Publisher PageWizard.

  1. Choose File / Create New Publication.
  2. Select the PageWizard tab, then Web Site / OK.
  3. Select the type of web site you wish to create, then click Next.

  4. Determine whether you want a single web page or a multiple page site.
(Note: it is easier to reduce the size of your site than add pages.)
    We'll select Multiple Pages.
  5. From the list, select the types of additional pages to include on your web site.
Note: the contents of this list will depend on your choice of type of web site.
    (See number 3 above)
    Click Next.

  6. Now select the look and feel you want for your web site. We'll select "Jazzy".
    Click Next.

  7. The background for the pages on your web site will now be selected. You may choose from plain, solid color, or a textured background.
    We'll select texture.
    Click Next.

  8. Now we'll indicate what type of hyperlinks to create.
The choices are text only, text and buttons, or icons and text.

  9. We'll select icons and text.
    Click Next.

  10. The title of your web site is selected. This is very important, because this is the text that will appear in the title bar of your site. Type something meaningful.
    We'll type Lincoln Nebraska Schools.
    Click Next.
  11. Finish answering the PageWizard selections.
  12. Click on Create It!

It will take a few minutes for Publisher to create your web site, so wait patiently. The next screen you see will be a miniaturized view of your home page (the first page of your web site)

You still have a lot of work to do. You need to type all the text, insert your pictures, and make all necessary hyperlinks to pages outside your web site.

We'll save our work and then proceed with these tasks.
