WIN 95 Menu Activity 2 - Working with Menus Next Topic

Objectives:

  1. Learn how to use the New file function
  2. Learn how to use the Save As function
  3. Learn how to use the Help function

Steps to follow:

  1. Choose Start
  2. Choose Programs
  3. Choose Accessories
  4. Choose WordPad

    5. Wordpad is a simple, easy-to-use word-processing program.

  5. On the menu bar, Choose File.
  6. On the Pull-down menu, Choose New.

    7. Click on OK in the dialog box (explained later.)
    A blank work area should appear.
  7. Type a sentence describing your Solitaire game and success with the mouse activity.

  8. Choose File/Save As.

    9. A dialog box will appear.
    1. Type a filename in the filename box.
      2.  Use your initials for the filename.
      Indicate that you wish to save your work on your floppy disk.
    2. In the Save In drop down box, click on A:, your floppy disk.
    3. Click Save.

    The report about your game of Solitaire is now saved on drive A:.

  9. Choose Help/Help Topics.

    10. Look through a couple of Help topics.

  10. Close the WordPad window.
